Terms of service

MeddyCare is a UK introductory carer agency. These terms explain what we do, what we don't do, and the basis on which we introduce carers to families.

Last updated: 13 May 2026

1. About these terms

MeddyCare is an introductory agency. We do not employ carers, and we don't provide regulated care directly. When you go on to start care, the contract for that care is between you and the carer, not between you and MeddyCare. Our role is to find, vet and support the right carer for you, and to stay alongside the relationship through your Care Coordinator.

2. Who we are

MeddyCare is operated by MeddyCare Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. The company number and registered office will appear here ahead of launch. Contact: hello@meddycare.co.uk.

3. What we do

  • Introduce families to vetted carers who match the family's needs and the carer's experience.
  • Vet carers: DBS Enhanced, two professional references, right-to-work checks, in-person interview.
  • Provide a single Care Coordinator per family who stays alongside the placement.
  • Operate AI-scored daily care logs so families can read what happened each day and we can flag concerns early.
  • Offer an optional trial week so families and carers can confirm fit before continuing.
  • MeddyCare is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

4. What we don't do

  • We don't employ carers. Carers are independent professionals; the family contracts directly with the carer.
  • We don't provide regulated personal or clinical care.
  • We don't give clinical advice.

5. Eligibility

You can use MeddyCare if you are:

  • Resident in the UK
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Acting either for yourself or with authority from the person who needs care (next-of-kin, attorney under LPA, deputy, or with consent of the person needing care)

6. Pricing

We display weekly carer fees in pounds sterling before any introduction. Live-in care typically costs £1,200 to £1,800 per week depending on needs and location; visiting and respite care are charged differently. The figure you see on a carer's profile is the rate you agree with that carer if you proceed. MeddyCare also charges a separate agency fee. This is broken out clearly before you commit.

7. Trial week and cancellation

On a new placement, the first 7 days are an optional trial week at the same weekly rate as continuing care. On day 5 you can decide to:

  • Continue: care carries on at the agreed rate;
  • Extend the trial once: adds another 7 days at the same rate;
  • End: the carer leaves at the end of the trial, the family pays only for the trial week.

You can cancel ongoing care at any time. Notice periods, replacement policies and refund rules appear in your service-specific terms when you start a placement.

8. Carer conduct and safeguarding

Every MeddyCare carer is DBS-Enhanced checked, has two professional references, has the right to work in the UK, and has been interviewed in person by our team. If you have a safeguarding concern about a carer's conduct, contact your Care Coordinator or email hello@meddycare.co.uk immediately. We escalate safeguarding concerns to the relevant local authority where required.

9. Our liability

MeddyCare is liable for our own acts and omissions in the introduction, vetting and Care Coordinator support we provide. We are not liable for the carer's acts or omissions during the placement, beyond our duty to vet and supervise. Nothing in these terms excludes liability we can't legally exclude, for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
